Growing up, I was outside all winter long.
And it wasn’t skiing or ice fishing.
I was on the water alright. It was the ocean and I was surfing in a wetsuit. Cold, yes but nothing compared to what I am in the midst of right now. I am doing a job for my company that will require me to live through a serious, knockout winter. And it’s all HVAC heating, all the time. I just can’t get warm enough. And that’s fully layered up with the HVAC cranking. The office is not so bad. The walk from the heated car to the office is bad. But once I’m inside, it’s not too bad. I think this is because my office mate is a lady who brings in a space heater. Thank God for that. The HVAC comfort level appears to keep most everyone comfortable. And, I think it’s almost seventy even when it’s in the teens outside. That extra bit of heating from the space heater really helps though. The winter where I come from consists of a few bouts of the heat pump coming on to knock off the chill. That is basically my HVAC heating experience. Now, when I come home from the office, my house is cold. It’s cold to touch the table. Never seen anything like it during my short time on earth. All I can do is keep the layers on and the HVAC furnace cranking. Perhaps I’ll deal with it better the deeper we get into winter. That seems hard to believe.
