For as long as I can remember, my parents have kept two space heaters in their primary bedroom closet.
During the winter months, their bedroom can feel really cold, especially at night. My parents both get cold easily, so the space heaters are there to keep them warm while they sleep. The portable space heaters have served them well over the years because they’re small and lightweight, so they’re easy to pull in and out of the closet whenever they need them. For their anniversary this past year, I wanted to spoil them with something better though. I saw ductless mini split systems at the local hardware store and thought that it would be a great addition to their primary bedroom. The ductless mini split system could be mounted to the wall above their bed and it was sleek and modern looking. Once the ductless mini split system was installed, it would remain in that same spot all year round. There was a remote that controlled the settings, which would make it easy for my parents to change the temperature with ease. It took less than five minutes for my parents to learn how to work the remote and they were very happy with how warm their bedroom became. The ductless mini split system could provide heat for them during the evenings and then they could turn off the system during the day. Although they didn’t anticipate using the air conditioning, my parents have grown to enjoy the cool air conditioning during the summer months.
