As a heating and air conditioning worker, you wouldn’t think installing heating and cooling systems could possibly save a few marriages, but I think I might have saved a few marriages just by doing that.
Why? Because some couples disagree on what they consider comfortable temperatures so much, they fight over it. And I’ve seen a lot of couples fight over the HVAC device, and it gets ugly fast. Yesterday was no different, I met a family who was requesting and paying for the installation of a zoned HVAC component. They were having disagreements on the temperature in the home, and they wanted their bedrooms to be controlled independently. This was easy enough to do, and after I was done, the couple thanked me and I left. I see this a lot, and a lot of the times the best thing to do is either get a zoned heating and cooling unit, or if you don’t want to spend that much money, you can either buy a portable A/C or a space heater depending on whether you want to heat or cool your room. Those space furnaces and portable air conditioners are pretty popular among people as well. I can understand why some people would fight so viciously about their HVAC units, because the temperature of the home really does decide how comfortable your home is. If someone can’t be comfortable in their own home, then can they really call it a home? Anyways, even though it is a small problem, I like to think that I am helping to save relationships every time I install a new HVAC component.
