I avoided a really cheap job

When my seasonal job contract was up, I moved on to looking at other jobs. I was looking for something more permanent this time. I found a job that sounded pretty good, paid decently well and had great benefits too. It was also in a field of work I had always been wanting to try, and since this was an opening position for novices, this was a perfect opportunity to get my foot in the door and try it out. I submitted my resume, and a week later, I had gotten an email from them wanting to do an interview. When the day came for the interview, I arrived a little early and looked my best. The interview process itself was fine, and at the end of the interview, they must have liked me a lot, because they showed me if I was hired, where I would work. The office was very nice, but I noticed something wrong. I noticed the office was really heated, when asked about their cooling unit, they told me they didn’t have one. I asked if they were going to get a HVAC device anytime soon, and their reply shocked me. They told me that the employees would just have to deal with the heat without an air conditioning unit. This shocked me, because they really expected us to do well in a climate that easily makes it over 100 degrees in the summertime, without a cooling system? That’s incredibly dangerous, and people could get heatstroke. This also told me that this company was trying to be cheap and skip out on the essentials to save money, which really rubbed me the wrong way. I got the job, but I ended up declining the offer.
