Wearing masks in public for COVID has improved my allergies while I’m out

I feel bad for the employees who have no choice but to work for eight or more hours everyday with masks on their faces.

My car mechanic even uses one, and he’s usually dripping with sweat from his face because of this.

All of the employees at my pharmacy are masked as well as the cashiers, stockers, and baggers at many of the local grocery stores. Now that the delta variant has blown through middle America, many are resuming their earlier precautions. I know that people of all ages in my community are resuming their mask wearing in public. At the beginning of the summer there was only a small number of people still wearing their masks, but by this month the ratio has reversed. The people who don’t wear a mask inside public stores and businesses are now in the minority. I don’t know about anyone else, but these masks actually help my allergies while I’m running errands both indoor and outdoor. The mask absorbs a lot of dust, pollen, and fungal spores just like the air purifiers that I use at my house. And since I replace the masks every two to three days, I get optimal air purification before these outdoor air contaminants can get into my lungs and make me sick. That’s why I have no interest in going back to my life before I wore masks daily. It’s the next best thing to have an air purifier hooked up to your face at all times, and the cost is relatively cheap by comparison. And lastly, I really don’t care what anyone thinks about how I look or why I’m choosing to wear these masks.
