Sometimes I think that having a social life is extremely stressful. No matter what I do, I feel like other humans inject a lot of anxiety and panic into my life. I am often completely happy until I start talking with another person. That’s when I start getting nervous that I’m doing something wrong or making a fool of myself. This is also one of the reasons that I am not a big fan of parties. As you might imagine, being in a room with a million other people is very uncomfortable for me and it only gets more uncomfortable when the indoor air temperature system is under attack. This is what we were facing last week when we decided to throw a party and our air conditioning system decided to throw a fit. For the first time in a long time, we were going to have people over at the house. Everything was in working order… We thought. Until, the central heating, cooling, and air quality control system randomly stopped working. I noticed that there was no air passing through the vents throughout the entire house and I went to the thermostat to inspect the air temperature control program. That’s when I realized that the indoor air temperature was completely unmanaged because the air conditioning unit was not responding to my temperature change demands. We all began to panic as we realized that the air conditioning system was broken and we needed a professional heating and cooling technician before the party could start. Thank God, my roommate knew a retired HVAC technician down the road. We got the air conditioning unit repaired just as the first guests arrived, and I had one less thing to be anxious about.
